Terms of service
Last updated: September 2026
The short version: I do good work at the price I quoted, you own what you pay for, and neither of us is trapped. The longer version:
Quotes and prices
All prices are in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. Project prices are fixed before I start. If the scope changes, I'll agree any change in price before doing the work, not after.
Payment
Before any project starts, you get one page in writing: what's included, the price + VAT and when it's due. Monthly services are billed monthly in advance. If an invoice goes unpaid I'll chase politely, then pause work until it's sorted.
Ownership
When you've paid for it, you own it: website code and content, design files, your domain, your data, your accounts. I may showcase work I've done for you in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.
Monthly services and cancellation
No minimum terms, no contracts. If you want to stop a monthly service, I ask for 30 days' notice where you can. Everything I've built keeps working after you go. That's the point of how I build.
The Marketing Plan guarantee
If, within 14 days of the walkthrough call, you can look me in the eye and say Your Marketing Plan wasn't worth it, I'll refund you in full.
Your customers' data
If I set up PortalOS or anything else that holds your customers' details, we sign a data processing agreement first. That's a UK GDPR requirement, and it sets out exactly how I look after their information on your behalf.
What I need from you
Timely feedback, honest information, and access to the accounts I need to do the work. Delays on those pause my deadlines, fairly, not punitively.
Liability
I carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me for the work the claim relates to. I'm not liable for indirect losses, though I'll always help fix a problem regardless of whose fault it is.
The boring-but-necessary bit
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. Questions about any of it:me@jamieclarke.online.
