A proper website for a civil engineering design firm
ALD had a one-page WordPress site. Now developers can see exactly what they do, and who they'll be dealing with, before they pick up the phone.

The job
ALD Design is a civil engineering design consultancy in Wigan, run by Anthony Peet. They do the technical drawings for drainage, roads, levels and infrastructure that have to be done before anything gets built, then help get them approved.
Their customers are housebuilders and developers, and they choose a design firm based on whether they trust it. The old website was a one-page WordPress site that didn’t come close to showing what ALD actually does.
What I did
- Built it out into a proper site. Eleven pages, including a page for each of their five services, so a developer looking for help with surface water drainage lands on a page that’s all about surface water drainage.
- Put the important bit up front. The work is done by a senior engineer who picks up the phone, and that’s said clearly on the homepage.
- Showed who they already work for. The housebuilders they work with are right there in the hero.
- Made getting in touch simple. A straightforward enquiry form, and a contact page that explains what happens after you send it.
- Kept it fast and free to run. It’s built on the same setup as all my sites, so there are no plugins to update and no monthly platform fees.
Where it’s at now
The site’s live at alddesign.co.uk, and it finally looks like the kind of firm ALD is.
