The job

The Girls Club Life is a community interest company that runs weekly peer support sessions and events for women. The people visiting the website are often having a hard time, and deciding whether it’s safe to reach out.

I’ve been through depression myself, so this one meant a lot to me.

What I did

  • Warm, not clinical. The design and the words feel like the community does, rather than a healthcare leaflet.
  • Made it easy to see what’s on. Sessions and events sorted by area, with a WhatsApp community and a mailing list for anyone not ready to come along yet.
  • Handled the serious bit carefully. The club isn’t a crisis service, so the site says so clearly and kindly, with the right places to go for urgent help.
  • Room to grow. A stories section for news and updates, a way to volunteer, and a page for donations and sponsors.

Where it’s at now

The site’s live at thegirlsclub.life, and it’s there for anyone who needs it.

"Jamie is amazing to work with! Did exactly what we asked for and more! We couldn't be happier! Definitely recommend."
